Ann Nelson: I’m a Knoxville native who has been doing DIY projects since I was a kid. I’ve always been creative. It’s something I get from my Mom and my grandmother, who was always upcycling and creating something wonderful from nothing. Her ingenuity, and my Mom’s artistic skill were big inspirations for me growing up. I was always an artist, and also enjoyed crafts and making doll clothes, Christmas tree ornaments, and anything else I wanted to make! I eventually ended up with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and had a career working at galleries in the area for over 20 years. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about creating art, and have gained quite a bit of design knowledge from artists, craftspeople and interior decorators. I’m always coming up with ideas, and I’m here to hopefully give you some inspiration to create your own things, and apply your own personal style to your surroundings!
